Terrible, horrible, no good, very bad week!

Where do I start? We had a busy week filled with a sick toddler, busy work schedules, and 2 cars on the fritz! I can't even count the number of times Paul and I only saw each other in passing in the garage as we left the car running for each other. It began with a church board meeting on Monday, followed by me sleeping through Bible study in our guest bedroom on Tuesday--out of sheer exhaustion. Then Wednesday trouble ensued as Zoe was sick, burning up with 102 fever. She then couldn't be in school for the rest of the week b/c you must be fever-free for 24hours. I raced home on Thursday at noon to take care of Zoe, while Paul raced to a court hearing at work. When he returned, I ran back into town to go to a teacher appreciation dinner. Friday was exhausting in itself because it was our Mother's Tea at school--we had been preparing for it for 4 weeks. Since I had to be there and I had to bring all the food and balloons, Paul had to "work from home" again. So after my long day I had to race home and take over with Zoe ( who was now fever-free and doing great, too great, too much energy!). We crashed early on Friday night-fun.

Then Saturday was a fun-filled day with the Youth group. We helped prepare some lunches and Paul and the Youth group went to pass them out to the homeless at Hermann park while Zoe and I went to the Hermann Park Zoo. The Zoo was super-crowded, but we got a close parking spot and most of the animals were more active than usual, which I thought was wierd because it was like 100 degrees out! Only I didn't bring the camera this time :(

**Potty update: Zoe successfully went potty in a public restroom, at the zoo noless. **

After the Zoo/park we spent the afternoon with the Youth Group doing a scavenger hunt at the Galleria...found underwear for $204...who knew! We spent the evening at home and got a Video on Demand and had to turn it off about halfway through, because I had a crushing headache!

Sunday morning, Mother's Day was off to a great start. "Zoe" made me a card and gave me a watch--my old one broke and I've needed a new one for a long time! We enjoyed a nice breakfast together and then the morning came to a screetching halt when I realized that my engagement ring was no longer on the side table where I left it Saturday night. Most of the day has been spent looking for the ring, the diamond, platinum ring! Still havn't found it! Today I will look through our trash because, you never know where a 2 year old might "hide" it--woo hoo!! We had a pretty nice day filled with church and a nice lunch at Ruggles and a little shopping at Rice Village. When we got home I got word that my car is still "sick" and will need to stay in the shop tomorrow--yay (sarcasm)! We are triaging our car troubles at the time--woo hoo (more sarcasm) ! So I did my lesson plans and raced into town to give them to my partner and I called in for Monday. Ahhh, time to relax and finish the movie Paul and I started on Sat night. So we get to the climax of the movie and...uh oh time is out on Video on Demand...seriously!!!!

So, I'm off to search through our trash for my diamond ring, and I think...We've been thrown some tough, annoying stuff this week, but God is good. He has always provided for all of the desires of our hearts, and maybe not in our timing but in the right timing. I am so blessed to have an amazing husband, a healthy, growing, funny toddler, a roof over our head (that is getting fixed today:), loving supportive family, and jobs. Today is a new day... "This is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it!" Have a blessed day!
