The "Party"

So, we entered the terrible two's with a bang! We were so excited that Bubbe and Pappa got to join us for the big day. To start off our visit we went to the Zoo. It was a great day to be there. It was sunny, not crowded and we even got to see baby Miles the giraffe just hours after he was born--it was pretty cool! After lunch, it went downhill...Zoe was running after Pappa and tripped! She didn't catch herself in the fall and ended up with a slight gash in her noggin! As head wounds go, it bled quite a bit, but it was a small cut! She was a champ and we finished our afternoon at the zoo. With her new head wound coupled with a "rash" that was spreading, I decided to get her a quick appointment with the Doc. Turn out, she had Hand, Foot & Mouth Disease--sounds lovely right?--and highly contagious! And her small cut was poorly shut with a steristrip. So, we made the calls to her friends and cancelled her party. I dressed her up in her tutu and we had a quiet morning and ate some cake...enjoy the pics. Zoe is sportin' a blue Snoopy band-aid that looks like some sort of 80s sweatband!

2 years ago...

We are so proud of our precious girl, born 2 years ago...and quite proud of ourselves for making it through the first 2 years of parenthood...on to the "Terrible Twos"!

Zoe has accomplished quite a bit in her 2 years of life: learned to roll over, then crawl, then walk, then run and climb. She has learned to babble, then talk, then talk-back ("no mommy" is her favorite phrase as of late:). We look forward to all the new things ahead! We are so blessed!

After school today we met up with JJ and Emma and went to Sugarbabies for a cupcake--I just love this place!

I'm Back!

So it's January 20th 2009...That means:
A) It's that time of year where I eat Neco candy hearts until I am near vomitting.
B) We just experienced an historic presidential inauguration!
C) LOST, season 5 begins in a few short days!!
D) Our baby is entering the terrible TWOs in 9 days! I was optimistic and hopeful to bypass the terrible part, but it becoming quite evident that it is near!
E) I haven't posted a blog in over a month!
F) ALL of the above!

Wow, I can't beleive it's been a month since I last blogged/posted pictures! It seems as there are just not enough hours in a day and my blog has taken a back seat. We took a trip to NM for Thanksgiving and had a great time with Nana and Grampster...The pictures posted are from a photo shoot while we were there. (Thanks so much Lani for taking the pictures!!)

Zoe is 23 months old now and the time has just flown by. She'll be 2 in just a matter of weeks! Her vocabulary is growning exponentially, although on the way home today--which took forever--she seemed to go back to practicing "mommy". I believe she said "mommy, mommy, mommy..." 392 times (just approximate, of course). Tomorrow is the last school day of 2008, and I am soooo ready for a break! We look forward to traveling to Waco to visit Paul's brother and fam for Christmas. It will be nice to see the cousins together--it has been too long since we've seen them.
